A Few of My Favorite Things
Each image in “A Few of My Favorite Things” begins with the photographing of one of my favorite things combined with locally grown garden flowers and wildflowers; and sometimes, a unique flower found at the local flower shop will be added to throw in a twist to the still life shot. With my photograph functioning as the base of my art, I then make use of various digital tools and techniques to create my final artwork.
Using a few of my favorite things to create these pieces of art conjures a spark deep down in my soul. The vintage camera depicts my love of photography and how far it has developed over the years . . . from the vintage camera in the image to the digital tools and techniques to create my artwork. As for the flowers, it’s a reminder of the special times spent with my grandmother collecting wildflowers to include in bouquets combined with her beautiful garden flowers. My hope is that these pieces of artwork will inspire others to think about those special times in their life that have made them who they are today and celebrate those special moments.
My creations are one of vision and spontaneity, using the natural light as I photograph, and applying a variety of tools and techniques to my photographs until my vision has come to fruition. I set out to fashion an image that will make one stop, think, and feel, even if it’s only for a second.
